LED Industry Veteran Brings Seasoned Leadership to Growing Team

Boston, Mass., February 2, 2011Digital Lumens, developer of the industry’s first Intelligent Lighting System™, today announced that Fritz Morgan has joined the Company as Chief Product Officer.  Morgan will lead the development teams responsible for all aspects of the Digital Lumens Intelligent Lighting System, including the Intelligent Light Engines (LED-based fixtures with embedded controls and sensors) and the LightRules™ lighting management software.

Morgan joins Digital Lumens from Joule Unlimited, where he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering.  Previously, he was Chief Technology Officer of Color Kinetics, where he spent 11 years leading development of the company’s award-winning product lines and technologies, and helping manage the extensive IP portfolio, prior to and after its acquisition by Philips.

Before joining Color Kinetics, Morgan was a research scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Lab, where he developed surgical simulators.  He holds a BS in Physics, and an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon with a focus in robotics.
