Recognized for ability to produce products that provide massive energy and environmental benefits for customers

Boston, April 10, 2014 – Digital Lumens, the leader in intelligent LED systems, announced today that their product, LightRules Power, and lighting retrofit project with Creed Monarch received the Top Product of the Year Award and Top Project of the Year Award from Environmental Leader. The only company to win in both the product and project categories, Digital Lumens’ LightRules Power and the retrofit of its customer Creed Monarch were considered exemplary examples of how to increase energy, environmental and sustainability performance by the judges.

LightRules Power, winner of the Top Product of the Year Award, helps industrial facility managers to maximize energy savings, reduce operational expenses and achieve sustainability goals. The software measures and monitors energy usage on any piece of equipment or system in an industrial facility, leveraging the facility-wide network to gather power-consumption data from other circuits and systems into integrated LightRules reports. LightRules was selected by the Environmental Leader judges for its ability to provide a single, integrated view of energy use and cost by system, enabling them to optimize resources more effectively and reduce energy consumption and spend.

Digital Lumens received the Top Project of the Year Award for their lighting retrofit project with Creed Monarch, a specialized contract manufacturing facility. After a 10-year search for a sustainable product that would meet the operational needs of its 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, Creed Monarch implemented Digital Lumens’ Intelligent LED Lighting System and now saves approximately 1 million kWh of energy annually – representing energy use reductions of 75 to 90 percent through lighting alone and savings of $108,000 per year.

The Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards recognize excellence in products and services that provide companies with energy and environmental benefits, or in projects implemented by companies that improved environmental or energy management and increased the bottom line.

“The caliber of the entries this year was even more impressive than last year, and showed the excitement and innovation taking place in the industry today,” says Paul Nastu, publisher of Environmental Leader. “There was tough competition for those that entered, and the products that were awarded Top Product or Project of the Year are those that the judges say have viable attributes that set them apart from others in the field.”

Scores were determined by a panel of independent judges headed by Matthew Littlefield of LNS Research and also including judges from companies including Anheuser Busch InBev, Arrow Electronics, Autodesk, Citigroup Inc., Con Agra Foods, Environmental & Operational Risk Management, GlaxoSmithKline, ISS Facility Services, Microsoft, Owens Corning, Power Advocate, Puma, Sam’s Club, Sustainability and Risk Management Reputation Limited, Trupoint Advisers, the University of California Berkeley, Williams Creek Consulting and YES Bank.

“Being selected as winners in both the Top Product and Project of the Year Award categories by Environmental Leader’s influential judging panel of industry influencers highlights our commitment to providing customers with the most efficient intelligent LED lighting technology across the globe,” said Tom Pincince, president and CEO of Digital Lumens. “We appreciate Environmental Leader’s recognition of our work that’s providing massive energy and monetary savings, and our entire company is honored and delighted to receive these two awards.”

A special Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards report, featuring all of the 2014 Product and Project of the Year winners, will be available on March 24.
