Marks Pave Way for Sales Throughout North America; First Steps in Global Expansion
Boston, Mass., February 9, 2011 – Digital Lumens, developer of the industry’s first Intelligent Lighting System™, today announced that its Intelligent Light Engines have received NOM and ULC marks, allowing the products to be sold in Mexico and Canada, respectively. These certifications are the Mexican and Canadian equivalents of UL Listing in the United States. The press release is available in French Canadian and Spanish language versions.
NOM (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas) is the Mexican safety symbol, which indicates that a product meets the NOM standards. It applies to most products, whether locally manufactured or imported. ULC applies to products sold in Canada, and is the Canadian UL mark that is granted to products meeting the acceptance criteria of Underwriters Laboratory, the independent testing facility.
“We are deeply committed to ensuring our customers’ success with the highest quality, most energy-efficient products,” said Tom Pincince, President and CEO of Digital Lumens. “As we enter new markets, these marks are tangible evidence of our dedication to both customers and partners.”
“The NOM designation signals to customers in Mexico that Digital Lumens understands the importance of meeting regulatory criteria that ensure the efficacy and safety of products,” said Jorge Alvarez, CEO of Proinfra Sistemas e Ingenieria, a Digital Lumens reseller in Mexico. “We are excited to offer the Digital Lumens Intelligent Lighting System to our customers, who are eager to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.”
