Plant Services “Best Practice” Award Given to Maines Paper & Food Service for Lighting-Related Energy Reduction; Building Operating Management Readers Award “Top Product” Honors to the Digital Lumens Intelligent Lighting System
Boston, Mass., January 18, 2011 – Digital Lumens today announced that Maines Paper & Food Service, Inc. has been recognized by Plant Services with a 2010 “Best Practices” award for deploying the Digital Lumens Intelligent Lighting System™. In addition, Building Operating Management named the Digital Lumens Intelligent Lighting System a 2011 “Top Product” as chosen by readers on the basis of innovation and usefulness to facility managers.
Maines, one of the country’s largest independent broadline foodservice distributors, with revenues approaching $3 billion, deployed the Digital Lumens system in the first half of 2010 and has reduced lighting-related energy use by 87%. The direct energy savings will total 1,726,108 kWh per year – equivalent to 1,240 metric tons of CO2.
