Tom PincincePresident and CEO
With a track record of entrepreneurial and corporate success, Tom is responsible for overall strategy and management of Digital Lumens. Prior to joining the company, Tom was President, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Brix Networks, a global provider of converged service assurance solutions that was acquired by EXFO to serve as the foundation for its service assurance market entry. Previously, Tom was the Founder of New Oak Communications, a pioneering leader in Virtual Private Network (VPN) switches, which was subsequently acquired by Bay Networks (now Nortel Networks) to create the Contivity Extranet Switch product family.
Read More Top ^Before starting New Oak, Tom was an industry analyst, serving as Director of Forrester Research’s Network Strategy Service, where he focused on the commercial use of the Internet, and defined the market for corporate intranets and the possibilities of private data services over the public Internet. Earlier in his career, he held marketing and engineering positions of increasing responsibility at several Boston-area technology companies.
Tom also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Boston Museum of Science. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Neural Science from Brown University, where he was also a founding board member of the Brown Entrepreneurship Program.

Brian ChemelCo-Founder and CTO
Brian leads product strategy, intellectual property, and software development efforts for Digital Lumens, leveraging his extensive technical and entrepreneurial background in the field of solid-state lighting. Prior to starting Digital Lumens, he was a technical lead and development team manager as Director of Control Product Development at Color Kinetics, the pioneer of intelligent LED illumination systems, which was acquired by Philips Lighting in 2007.
Read More Top ^Prior to his time in the lighting industry, Brian designed autonomous mobile robotic systems as a researcher at the National Robotics Engineering Consortium for clients including DARPA and the U.S. Department of Energy. He has also co-authored more than a dozen US and international patents in the fields of solid-state lighting, embedded controls, and robotics.
Brian holds a Master of Science in Robotics and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, both from Carnegie Mellon University.

Michael FeinsteinVice President of Sales & Marketing
Responsible for leading the sales and marketing teams, Michael comes to Digital Lumens with extensive experience in the entrepreneurial and investment worlds, most recently as Managing Director of Sempre Management. Previously, he was a General Partner at Venrock Associates and Atlas Venture, where he served on the boards of start-ups including Boston-Power, Ciclon Semiconductor (acquired by Texas Instruments), CircleLending, WaveSmith Networks (acquired by CIENA Corp.) and Quantum Bridge Communications (acquired by Motorola).

Michael is actively involved in a number of non-profit organizations. He serves as Treasurer and member of the Board of Trustees of the American Repertory Theater, Treasurer and member of the Board of Trustees of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, member of the Ambassador Circle at The Carter Center, and is a member of the Board of the Bedford Education Foundation. Michael holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.

Mike RubinoChief Financial Officer
Mike Rubino brings more than 25 years of experience leading the financial and operational aspects of high-growth private and public companies, including manufacturing infrastructure development and international expansion. He has also successfully managed multiple acquisitions and integrations of privately held organizations into larger companies.
Read More Top ^Mike serves as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance and Administration at Digital Lumens, which he joins from A123 Systems, a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced technology lithium-ion battery packs for the transportation, electric grid, and commercial markets. While there, he was CFO and Vice President of Finance and Administration, managing multiple capital raises and a successful IPO. In addition, he played a key role in the build out of the company’s global supply chain and manufacturing strategy, which included the company’s first footprint in Asia.
Prior to joining A123 Systems, Mike served as CFO of Maker Communications, a semiconductor company focused on networking switches, where he managed the IPO and subsequent acquisition by Conexant Systems. Mike was previously CFO of Agile Networks, an ATM switches manufacturer, later acquired by Lucent Technologies. Rubino also served as CFO of Ellacoya Networks, a packaged portal service company, and Telephotonics, an optical components provider, which was acquired by DuPont.
Mike holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Fritz MorganChief Product Officer
A seasoned engineering leader, Fritz Morgan brings more than 18 years of experience in systems design across multiple technology sectors to his role as Chief Product Officer at Digital Lumens. At the Company, he oversees development of all elements of the Intelligent Lighting System, including LEDs, networking hardware, and the software-based energy management system.
Read More Top ^Fritz joins Digital Lumens from Joule Unlimited, developer of the Helioculture platform for converting sunlight and waste CO2 into liquid fuels, where he was Senior Vice President of Engineering. While there, he managed all aspects of system design and development, and oversaw the design and deployment of the company’s first pilot facility.
Previously, Fritz was Chief Technology Officer of Color Kinetics (NASD:CLRK), which was acquired by Philips Lighting in 2007. In the course of 11 years, he was responsible for the development of Color Kinetics’ award winning products and technologies – with responsibility for defining the strategic product direction for the company. Fritz also established the company’s operations in China, with manufacturing capacity and new product introductions, and helped develop and manage an extensive IP portfolio. After the Philips acquisition, Fritz was responsible for the technology merger and integration, and had responsibility for LED research and development programs for Philips worldwide.
Earlier in his carrier, Mr. Morgan worked on medical robotic and computer-assisted surgical applications and surgical simulation products, including the hardware and software systems development, for Mitsubishi Electric.
Mr. Morgan holds a BS in Physics, and an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon. When not working, he is actively involved in the FIRST Robotics Competition, working on strategic program development for this international program. He also serves on the IEEE Spectrum editorial advisory board.

Colin PiepgrasCo-Founder and Vice President of Engineering
With over a decade of experience in the development of innovative solid state lighting systems, Colin heads the engineering team and product execution at Digital Lumens. Prior to Co-founding Digital Lumens, Colin led Mechanical and Concept development teams at Color Kinetics (acquired by Philips Lighting in 2007), designing solid-state lighting, thermal and optical sub-systems, and controls. He has a deep knowledge of overseas development and manufacturing.

Ken MacLureVice President of Manufacturing Operations
Ken oversees manufacturing and supply chain functions for Digital Lumens, and brings more than 20 years experience in scaling new product operations for emerging growth technologies. Prior to Digital Lumens, he managed hardware engineering and manufacturing for litl, a Boston-based maker of next-generation web-based computers for the home, and previously was the Vice President of Operations at Colubris Networks (NYSE:HPQ, acquired by Hewlett Packard ProCurve division).

Bo ThurmondVice President of North American Sales
Responsible for all sales activities in North America, Bo brings a results-driven approach and more than 20 years of experience to his role at Digital Lumens. Previously,Bo was Vice President of North American Sales for Sanbolic, a storage software solutions company, and Senior Direct at Mazu Networks. Prior to joining Mazu Networks, Bo was Vice President of Sales at LiveVault Corporation, with responsibility for the company’s online backup and recovery managed service.
Read More Top ^With extensive experience in the networking industry, Bo served as Operations Directors for Eastern US and Canada for Cisco/Arrowpoint for the Content Delivery Networks Group. Previously, he was Eastern Regional Director for Shiva, which was acquired by Intel. He began his career at IBM Corporation.
Bo holds a B.S. in Sociology from Northeastern University. When not on the road, he spends time with his family.
